Description
Image was taken at rush hour at the Arc De Triumph Paris !In 1961, President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy of the United States paid their respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, accompanied by French President de Gaulle. After the 1963 assassination of President Kennedy, Mrs. Kennedy remembered the eternal flame at the Arc de Triomphe and requested that an eternal flame be placed next to her husband's grave at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. President de Gaulle went to Washington to attend the state funeral, and he was able to witness Jacqueline Kennedy lighting the eternal flame that was inspired by her visit to France.
The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It was commissioned in 1806 after the victory at Austerlitz by Emperor Napoleon I at the peak of his fortunes. Laying the foundations alone took two years, and in 1810 when Napoleon entered Paris from the west with his bride Archduchess Marie-Louise of Austria, he had a wooden mock-up of the completed arch constructed...

We know what that means!
Great scene and a awesome idea which is very well executed.
I like the trees framing this a bit.
BW is my preference!
Keep throwing your pieces in here Mr Monkey boy...

The is very very neat to look at.
I would try a different white balance. Just a matter of taste.
All versions are cool. I would heal the big over-exposed spot in the last one.

Anyways didnt know Monkey's had to wear coats? Does your fur not keep you warm enough in the winter?
Ok the photo is great... no complaints here

Roadrunner, well spotted on the last additional download ! other colour temps didnt work as they ended up feeling far to cold..
@Carlos, maybe i used the burn tool on my hair
@millink, i hid one of the street lights behind a tree. but the composition is controlled by the tree line up ! so that was the best comp.
@Vasco, both Michelle and Patrick seen this image before it was posted, and i told them that the "ghost" was the person with me..
its on purpose ! just to give the photo a bit extra ,
Origional title "watching Rush hour with a ghost"
I wanted to see if it would be spotted !
@andy, I wonder how many get the Boots joke LOL (boots is a chemist with a photo processing counter)
03/09/08 @543
For me even the sligthes change in a photo its what it makes it an original.. if we keep on going by the same rules.. take out this take out that.. in a couple of time we lose our originality a stop doing art.. just post process photos..
Its nice that you put up that the explanation of the ghost.. and the original title.. makes it even greater..
Great photo as usual.. top marks..

I would have taken a slightly different angle, width less space to the right and a bit more foreground, but that's just me.
great photo!

you did well i think... a combination of that monument + the long exposure lights from car passing by isnt easy
